Four Seasons of Running Trails :: The End of a Peregrination
Just a few blocks away from where I lived in Stuttgart, there was a nice little forest with a collection of trails winding through it. I started going running there the first month I moved in. And, while I wasn't originally planning to photograph the trails in all four seasons, the views were always so beautiful that I found myself pausing to take pictures on a regular basis. By the time I had lived in Germany about 6 months, I realized I that already had a great start on a year-long album. From that time on, I was on a mission to document every season of the forest.
Just a few days before I left Germany, I finished photographing the final season — spring. In a way, these pictures mark not only a year of the life of the forest, but also the year of my life in Europe. Everything changes over time. A day in the forest is never the same twice, and neither is a day in our lives. There will always be times of ending and times of beginning, but I love the idea that the last of the forest pictures were taken in the spring: a time of new beginnings.
So, here's to new adventures and new paths to travel. Here's to running trails and living in European cities and learning new things. And here's to the happy ending of the Peregrination.
Thanks for joining me!
Tschüss! Auf Wiedersehen!
